North American oak flooring is made from North American red oak. The scientific name of North American red oak is Quercus spp. It is mainly distributed in the eastern United States and Canada, with a density of about 0.63 and a hardness of up to 1,290 (PSI).

The sapwood of North American oak is usually white to light brown, while the heartwood is pinkish-brown with prominent growth rings, slightly wavy, heavy, and hard.

American Red oak is a highly productive hardwood in the United States, with abundant growth resources and high annual production of lumber and veneer. Therefore, it is one of the most widely available wood species. It is also a favorite oak variety recognized by local Americans.

The appearance of red oak is similar to white oak, but the wood grain is finer, and most of the wood has a straight grain.
